Here are a few photos we took on a sunny day in early March, after weeks of rain. The morning started out frosty but as soon as the sun came out the garden was full of bees busily collecting pollen … in fact, they were so laden with pollen they could hardly fly. As a final treat, the bees started waking up from their winter hibernation in our insect hotel which we installed a few years ago. It really taken no effort or maintenance to set up an insect hotel and we had hours of fun watching these little beauties waking up after a long, wet winter.
We took these photos on a sunny day with a Canon EOS 200D using the kit 18-55mm lens, with a 12mm extension tube. No tripod was used.
